PIKE'S PEAK!

Wednesday, September 29

Had breakfast at Uncle Sam's pancake house and made our way to the Cog Railroad for our trip up Pike's Peak to the top - 14,110 ft. above sea level.

Going up the mountain, a brick building that used to inhabited.

Looking out to other mountains

Looking back down the mountain at a couple of lakes.

When we got to the top it was a very sunny 42 degrees, not windy. It was a little thin in the air department, but it was beautiful!!

SNOW! Between a building and the observation area.

Brian and Nicole made it to the top!

Nikki has found some donuts on the top and David is being nice so he can have one...or two....or all of them!!

Nicole and Brian on top of the world!

The thin air has caused Nicole to think she is a super model!

It was a great day!

We came back down around 1 pm, drove through Old Colorado Springs and found a great Italian  place to eat called Dat's Italian that was WONDERFUL!!!!  Great lasagna! We were all impressed with the food! After a little more sight-seeing we headed back to Denver. We checked into the hotel, went back to Nikki's apartment and played some more cards and looked at our pictures from the adventure of the past two days.  Thanks Nicole and Brian for a lot of fun.

more to come......
